Remember when I talked about curating and publishing resource lists for your blog in #4? What do you think people include and link to on those resource lists? Free tools are a big one. You can get on the other side of those resource lists by creating free tools that are really helpful for your target customers.
In the end, though, just having a number that everyone can point to as an acceptable proxy of reality is more important than how accurate that number may be. The Nielsen TV rating is notoriously fuzzy, but companies bought $78 billion of TV ads in 2013 based on their faith that those ratings were good enough. ComScore could theoretically measure mobile better, and come out with real-time reporting, but money is as much a limiting factor as technology. Metrics are only ever as good as it is financially viable for them to be, and advertisers, publishers and agencies will pay for only as much accuracy as their own business will support. Right now, comScore leads the industry when it comes to online audience measurement, and comScore has to be only accurate enough to keep that lead.
Salman, thanks for the comment. Web 2.0s are getting harder to index, but if you follow the strategies in this post, you should be able to get almost all of them indexed. If those strategies aren’t working, then a) the web 2.0 platform you’re using has the “noindex” tag or B) you’ll need to be more aggressive with tier two links
Make the page more visible to other content creators Notice any patterns? That’s a good thing!
Google calls it, ‘online business authority‘ Just pop your primary keyword into Ahrefs and click on “Also rank for” or “Search suggestions” to see everything Google thinks is relevant.
Inadequate customer service pages Hi Andy, thanks for the comment
Rey, I appreciate that 🙂 – compromise my PBN in what way? Like they’ll reverse engineer it? This is pretty unlikely since they’re running businesses and don’t have time for SEO. Being transparent is always the best route in my experience.

Hey Cory, Go to Interviewing & Surveying in Marketing Research While web traffic—typically measured in the number of visits or sessions your site receives during a given period of time—certainly provides insight into the overall success of your marketing campaigns, it certainly isn't the be-all and end-all of your business. Unless the main purpose of your site is content delivery or brand awareness, there are much more important success metrics.
