Now, back to that webmaster: When reaching out, be friendly and introduce yourself. Tell this individual that he or she is linking to some resources that are no longer available. Always provide the exact location of the broken links, so they can be easily found. Give some alternatives to replace those links, including your own website. Try to be helpful, not greedy to get a backlink. Often, this method will work, but there will be cases when the webmaster will refuse to link back to you.

High quality traffic is basically traffic that won’t just go to your site and browse or wind up there accidentally. These are visitors that are intentionally looking for something, which your site might be offering.

Thanks again, for your insights mrpelage. You’re obviously an expert on YT video marketing/ranking. You should start a blog about this and sell a premium course. I’d be the first person in line to buy it 🙂

Now let me explain what backlinks you should NEVER use on tier one. Reciprocal Links – These are ‘tit-for-tat’ links—your friend has a website that links to your website, and your website links back to your friend’s site. While reciprocal links are seen by some to be effective, it’s kind of in the gray area where they can be used both honestly and solely to improve Google ranking. Be careful. Try and only link with sites where it makes sense. A mechanic’s website probably shouldn’t have reciprocal links with a beekeeper’s website.

Good stuff! It’s funny how many bloggers out there are still promoting the benefits of high DA directory sites as if that is a huge step toward the end-all, be-all of the Google juice funnel. I just watched a video by Matt Cutts and he basically says that most directory sites (not to be confused with citation directories) are not only a waste of time and money, but can get you slapped. He did say that Dmoz , Yelp and a few others still matter but, the rest are just an exercise in futility. He also says the days of article directories such as Ezine and others have been put to rest as well.
